Embracing Change and Finding Blessings
Welcome to Our Homeschooling Whirlwind!
Welcome to the whirlwind that is homeschooling Phoenix! Our energetic 6-year-old finds it challenging to stay focused for long periods, so homeschooling allows us to tailor his learning environment. At home, we can incorporate fun and engaging activities to capture his interest and allow him to take breaks whenever necessary.
The Beginning of Our Journey

I started homeschooling Phoenix at the beginning of the 2023 school year. He had been in school since age 3 to help with his speech delay. By the end of his second year in VPK, he was ahead, and we were told he’d be repeating much of what he’d already learned. I was already contemplating homeschooling, feeling there had to be a better approach to education that fit our family’s needs.
The Decision to Homeschool
As the school year quickly approached, I began to notice a shift in my clientele. My days quickly went from being 100% booked to 50%. That was my sign. I sent in my intent to withdraw him from public school, and we embarked on our homeschooling adventure.

Embracing Change and Finding Blessings
I’m someone who sees blessings in disguise. Although the path seemed harder than sticking with the status quo, I knew it would be worth it. I’m thrilled I chose to homeschool when I did. Not only did my schedule slow down, but I also had the chance to move my salon closer to home and adjust my schedule to support our homeschooling.
A Shift in Priorities

Over the years, my priorities have shifted towards a more intentional, family-focused life. We all have to do what feels right for us, and this is where my heart knew we needed to be. Homeschooling Phoenix has allowed us to create a learning environment that fits his unique needs and brings us closer together as a family.
